Tivol Continues Vigorous Participation In The Community Toward ‘100 Acts Of Kindness’

Jeweler Heavily Active In A Month Traditionally Packed With Events

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May, 2010) – Tivol’s centennial campaign, “100 Acts of Kindness” upped the ante in April, a month commonly loaded with events on the Kansas City charitable register. Tivol staff was active in the community through various events and continues to add to the growing commitment of serving the community to which it has called home for 100 years.

April Acts:

Event: AIDS Walk Patron Party, April 8
Beneficiary: The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City works to raise money and awareness for organizations that provide shelter, medical care and emergency services for the more than 5,000 men, women and children in Kansas City affected by HIV/AIDS.
Participation: Cathy Tivol and Dr. Mark Maslan hosted the event at their home.
Event: Bloom is Studio 54 Patron Party, April 9
Beneficiary: The Kansas City Free Health Clinic provides basic health care services at no charge to people who cannot pay for care and to those who do not have insurance available to them.
Participation: Tivol was a sponsor of Bloom’s patron party.
Event: Stephen Webster “Mummy Rocks” Weekend, April 16-17
Beneficiary: Children’s Mercy Hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical center and the only free-standing children's hospital between St. Louis and Denver.
Participation: Webster, dubbed the “Rock Star of Jewelry”, made a rare public appearance at Tivol on the Country Club Plaza for the exclusive United States unveiling and offering of his treasure, the “Mummy Rocks” Bleeding Heart locket. For every $25 donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital guests received one entry into a raffle for a chance to win one of five “Mummy Rocks” lockets. Tivol also donated $100 from every “Mummy Rocks” locket that sold through Mother’s Day.
Event: Vignoble Patron Party, April 17
Beneficiary: Spelman Medical Foundation is committed to support, assist and improve the total health care of the individual, family and community and raises funds to support its mission.
Participation: Tivol was a sponsor of the Vignoble Patron Party.
Event: MS Walk, April 17
Beneficiary: The MS Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
Participation: Team Tivol participated in the walk, raising funds for the organization.
Event: Annual Fundraiser, April 17
Beneficiary: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church housed in an historic building on the corner of 40th and Main with regular services on Saturdays, starting at 5:00 p.m., and Sundays, starting at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.
Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Event: Annual Fundraiser, April 18
Beneficiary: Literacy Kansas City’s mission is to advance literacy among Kansas City area adults through direct services, advocacy and collaboration.
Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Event: Insurance Professional Seminar, April 23
Participation: Certified Appraiser of Personal Property and Tivol employee, Tracey Kahle, dedicated her time to teach the class.
Event: Black and Gold Tiger Ball, April 23
Beneficiary: University of Missouri Alumni Association has more than 40,000 members worldwide. It proudly supports the best interests and traditions of Missouri’s flagship university by providing members the opportunity to develop a lifelong relationship with Mizzou.
Participation: Support through attendance.
Event: Annual Fundraiser, April 24
Beneficiary: St. Therese Catholic Elementary School is centered around a rich tradition of academics and strong growth through faith and character. Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Event: Annual Auction, April 24
Beneficiary: Bishop Miege High School’s educational objective is to serve all students who seek admission, in identifying their needs, to provide a variety of programs to serve those needs and interests, thus providing for a comprehensive educational process that fosters the development of the student as a whole person.
Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
