Tivol’s Community Outreach Continues To Blossom During May

In Its Pursuit Toward ‘I00 Acts Of Kindness’, Kansas City’s Most Established Jeweler Supports Six Different Causes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June, 2010) – – Tivol’s philanthropic footprint continued to swell in May as it celebrates its centennial all year with ‘100 Acts Of Kindness”, a staff-driven campaign in which Tivol engages with various causes throughout the community to which it has called home for 100 years. In May, Tivol partnered with six community organizations to move forward in its quest toward 100.

May Acts:

Event: Dining by Design, May 1
Beneficiary: DIFFA-KC supports the prevention of HIV and AIDS by funding education and awareness programs in Greater Kansas City. Founded in 1988, DIFFA-KC brings together volunteers from the local design community representing the fields of interior design, graphic communications, architecture fashion, and more.
Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Event: Fashion For A Cause, May 2
Beneficiary: Truman Medical Center is a two-hospital, not-for-profit health system located in Kansas City, Mo. TMC provides a broad range of acute and outpatient care featuring 35 general and specialty clinics.
Participation: Tivol was a sponsor of Fashion For A Cause.
Event: Memories In The Making, May 6
Beneficiary: Alzheimer’s Association works to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Participation: Tivol committed to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Event: Baron BMW Event May 11
Beneficiary: reStart Inc. is an interfaith ministry with homeless persons committed to providing shelter and supportive services to homeless men, women, youth and families with the goal of helping them move toward independence and self-sufficiency and ending homelessness in our community.
Participation: Tivol was a community partner for the event.
Event: Fearless Fete, May 14
Beneficiary: The Kansas City Repertory Theatre produces work on stage that garners local, regional and national acclaim. Each year, over 12,000 local students benefit from Rep education programs that help teachers meet state education standards and keep learning fun for kids (on both sides of the state line). The Rep also offers life-long learning opportunities for adults through our Conversation Series, and reaches out to the community with after-school programs for at-risk kids and more.

Event: Royals Celebrity Golf Tournament, May 24
Beneficiary: Kansas City Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
