Fourth Generation of the Tivol Family Joins 100-Year-Old Family Business

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 13, 2010) – Cathy Tivol, Chief Executive Officer, and Harold Tivol, Chairman Emeritus, of Tivol are very pleased to announce that Hunter Tivol McGrath, is joining as the fourth-generation of the 100-year-old family business. Hunter McGrath begins his career with Tivol engaging with customers and learning the essential role of a sales professional at the Hawthorne Plaza location in Leawood, Kan. Hunter grew up surrounded by the family business which gave him an appreciation and understanding of it. He is the son of Cathy Tivol, grandson of Harold Tivol and great-grandson of Tivol founder, Charles Tivol. Hunter will work closely with the Hawthorne team to gain a deeper understanding of the relationships that are the foundation of the Tivol family business, as well as educating clients on the renowned designer lines that the Kansas City stores feature at multiple price points for celebrating milestones or personal style.

“My father and I have always envisioned Tivol continuing as a family legacy and Kansas City business partner,” says Cathy Tivol. “It was especially meaningful when Hunter approached me with his desire to be part of something so close to Dad and my hearts.”

Most recently, Hunter worked as a certified public accountant at the firm of Marks Nelson Vohland Campbell Radetic LLC. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Hunter is a registered CPA in the state of Kansas. He attended the Pembroke Hill School and recently married Gloria Olsen. Gloria and Hunter McGrath reside in Overland Park, Kan.
