When A.J. Paddack came to Tivol 15 years ago, she brought her passion of fine art. She was the director of an international fine art company, but she found her home at TIVOL. If she is not in the store, she is either at a kid's event, running, bicycling, training or traveling. A.J. says, "I want to make sure that the major moments in our clients lives are celebrated not only with beautiful jewelry but with a wonderful memory to cherish."
Amanda Thompson, a Kansas City native, is proud to be a part of a century-old family owned business. She loves the world of jewelry and the value that pieces hold both monetarily and emotionally. Though she admires new, inventive jewelry designs, she really also appreciates the history of well-made, classic timepieces. During her time at TIVOL, she has enjoyed helping clients with heart-felt gifts and momentous engagement ring searches. When Amanda is not working at TIVOL, she spends time with her family and her stubborn bulldog, Monte.
Dominic Quintero has 15 years of jewelry industry experience and he has been with TIVOL for eight years. Among his favorite moments with the company was his trip to Geneva, Switzerland to tour the Patek Philippe factory. He is a Royals and Chiefs fan, and also spends time rock climbing, mountain biking, snow boarding and playing chess.
Plaza Store Manager Gary Pener is a lifelong Kansas Citian. He is a Mizzou graduate who loves working on the Plaza. He has been in the jewelry business for 30 years, the last 15 of which have been spent at TIVOL. Gary is the father of four children, and has been married to his wife for more than 20 years. Along with his devotion to TIVOL and providing amazing customer service, Gary is a fan of baseball, football, basketball and college sports.
A native of Oklahoma City, newlywed Kathryn brings 10 years of experience to TIVOL. She has a passion for fashion jewelry as well as statement pieces. Her favorite lines include David Yurman, Penny Preville, Carelle, and Roberto Coin. When she's not at TIVOL she enjoys walking her dog, cooking, and dining with her husband and friends on the Country Club Plaza.
A former entrepreneur of the fashion world, Lisa Lyddon, assistant manager of the Plaza store, brought her design sense to Tivol more than a decade ago. Lisa grew up in Iowa, but for the last 20 years has called Kansas City home. She has a passion for ballroom dancing, music, and spending time with her family. Lisa cherishes her relationships with her clients and looks forward to being a part of their lives.
Kansas City native Ward Manes has more than 27 years experience in luxury goods. He began his career at Hall's in Kansas City as a department manager. Interestingly, Ward has worked at TIVOL on three separate occasions during his career. Throughout those iterations, he has served as a salesperson, assistant store manager of the Country Club Plaza store, the Plaza store manager and as a designer jewelry merchandiser. Between stints at TIVOL, Ward worked as the jewelry manager for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and as senior vice president of Michael Beaudry, Inc. Ward is looking forward to playing out the rest of his career in Kansas City with the Tivol family.
Wendy Sight has 26 years of fine jewelry experience. She started by designing and making jewelry at Shawnee Mission East High School. Wendy studied jewelry design and silver smithing at the University of Kansas and concluded her advanced studies at the Gemological Institute of America. Currently, Wendy is on her second tour at Tivol as one of the assistant managers at the Country Club Plaza store.
Lindsay Ross, G.J.G., graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in 2004 and has been in the jewelry industry ever since. She worked for five years at Tiffany & Co. in both San Diego, CA (as a customer service representative) as well as in Kansas City (as an operations professional and assistant store manager), and served as a gemologist/sales associate for four years at another midwest jeweler. At TIVOL, Lindsay works as our full-time appraiser, assigning values to everything from inherited estate jewelry to more recent purchases in order to provide documentation for insurers.
Annie has more than 14 years of experience in the jewelry industry. After graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in marketing/management, Annie started with Zales in 1998-2001. In 1999 she became the manager of the Topeka store and in 2000 she returned to Overland Park to be the assistant manager. In 2001 she joined TIVOL and in 2005 she was promoted to the assistant manager at the Hawthorne Plaza store.
David has more than 28 years experience in the jewelry business. From 1984 to 1991, David was the store manager for a Michigan-based location of Zales, and from 1991 to 2000 he worked for another private jeweler in MI. In 1996, he received his Graduate Gemologist designation, and in 2000 he joined TIVOL. In 2001, he began working as TIVOL's international diamond buyer and then became store manager of the Hawthorne Plaza location in 2005.
Denise Baker has been at TIVOL since 1999. Prior to joining TIVOL, she served as assistant manager for a St. Louis jeweler for three years, and as the fine jewelry manager for another St. Louis jeweler for an additional year. After being recruited by former co-workers, Denise was very excited to join TIVOL because of their reputation as one of the premier jewelry stores in the United States. Denise and her family are happy to call Kansas City home.
Tami Noon Mahaney has been with TIVOL for more than seven years. Prior to joining the company, she owned her own custom window treatment and decorating firm for more than 10 years. In addition to jewelry, Tami has a love for sports with college football being her favorite (she is a graduate of Pittsburg State University). In regard to life at TIVOL, Tami loves helping customers through the engagement process and seeing them marry, celebrate anniversaries and grow their families.
Carly McFadden is originally from Liberty, Missouri, but moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, when she was a child. In 2013, Carly returned to Kansas City and joined TIVOL Hawthorne Plaza. She graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and is an Alpha Chi Omega alumnus (as well as a Husker fan). Before working at TIVOL, she was an associate at another family-owned jeweler in Nebraska. Carly has a passion for fine jewelry and customer service, and she wants everyone's shopping experience at TIVOL to be their absolute best.
Jessie is a Kansas City native who has traveled the world, and who lived in Spain for six and a half years. While in Spain, she managed a recording studio, worked in large-scale live music production, and managed social media presence for a small design house. She is bilingual (Spanish-English) and is currently attempting to learn Mandarin as well. She brings a knowledge of fine jewelry and timepieces to the table through her love of learning, and exceptional customer service through many years in the hospitality industry.
Myles is the newest member to the Tivol team. He is a native Kansas Citian who comes from an art historical background. He is passionate about educating his clients on the significance of each particular piece. Whether they are antique designs or modern statement pieces, he is sure to have a fine art reference point to convey the craftsmanship, innovation, or pure brilliance of the objects. When he is not at Tivol, Myles is actively engaged in the community alongside his wife, Lisa.
Suzie has been a long-time customer and friend of TIVOL since 2007. She is very excited for the opportunity to assist customers and be a part of the team here at TIVOL. Suzie enjoys the personal interaction with clients in finding the perfect piece of jewelry to celebrate their special moments. She enjoys time with family, dinner with friends, snow skiing, reading and travel.
Dennis began his jewelry career 30 years ago in Waterloo, Iowa with Zales Jewelers. After his promotions he was transferred to the Chicago area working for Zales, Whitehall Co. Jewelers, Bailey Banks and Biddle, and C D Peacock Jewelers. In 2014, he was given the opportunity to move to Kansas City and join TIVOL which came with the added bonus of being close to family for the first time in many years. Dennis enjoys all aspects of the jewelry business, but his real passion is with the fine timepieces. He has been named as an ambassador for three different Swiss watch brands. Dennis enjoys volunteer programs in the summer and doing projects around his home in Lee’s Summit.
