Fall Fashion Trends

The air is getting crisp and the leaves are changing. Fall is here, and we're all for it! If you're from Kansas City (or anywhere in the Midwest), you know this is a magical time of year. It is a new chance to play with color and mix in new pieces to your wardrobe.

Just as your clothing style changes with the seasons, so can your jewelry selections! We've rounded up some of our favorite fall trends of 2020 to help elevate your style this season.

The Perfect Pair of Hoops

If you don't already have a pair in your collection, now is the time to add hoop earrings! From classic gold hoop earrings to oversized textured hoops, there are options to suit anyone's preference. Some of the earliest known hoop earrings were made in Mesopotamia, now modern-day Iraq. Ancient Egyptians of both sexes wore hoops, as did Minoan, Greek, and Roman women. Clearly gold hoops have always been in fashion, but have gained even more popularity in 2020. The hoop trend is part of a larger movement to combine streetwear staples like sneakers with dresses, and athleisure into ready-to-wear collections to add some edge, appealing to younger customers. We love to see all of the ways hoop earrings can be styled, just tag @tivolkc!

Layering Links and Chains

These chunky, layerable chains can elevate even the simplest of outfits. Even if you plan on staying in loungewear for the foreseeable future, there is one major jewelry trend that will fit any style, whether that's sweatpants or cozy fall dresses, and that trend is chain link necklaces. If it feels like we've been featuring layering necklaces for a while now, that's because we have. Last year, we started seeing the trend gain momentum. Recently we've added chunkier link-style necklaces to the layering trend. This popular accessory goes with all kinds of necklines, making it such a versatile look. Whether thin or thick, layered, or worn as a single piece - we love to see all the ways our customers style their links!

Not Your Mama's Pearls

While pearl jewelry has always had a place in women's fashion, we have recently seen a huge resurgence of new pearl trends. No boring pearls here! This time around, pearls are decidedly cool and unique. Focus on irregular, baroque styles or new, stylish takes on the classic trend. Of course, we have a soft spot for the classics as well - just add a gold chain with your pearls for a decidedly trendy twist on a traditional look.

Engagement Trends

While we adore all diamond rings, from classic solitaires to more ornate halo designs, there is a clear front-runner for most popular ring in 2020. The winner is the three-stone ring with an emerald cut center flanked by tapered baguettes. As antique and vintage-inspired engagement rings grow increasingly in-demand, baguette diamonds have become a popular accent for engagement rings, wedding rings, and other styles of jewelry. A tapered baguette diamond narrows on one of the two ends, resulting in a unique trapezoidal shape. Tapered baguettes look stunning when used to accent a center stone, especially when paired with a dazzling emerald cut diamond. Celebrities like Amal Clooney, Demi Lovato and Jennifer Lopez all rock this stunning look - which has added to the popularity of the style.

This fall, elevate your jewelry with an eye-catching twist - the addition of layers and pearls make a winning combo. Silver and shades of gold will be some of the hottest hues of the season, so why not add some great hoops to your collection?
